Kidnapping for ransom is a growing threat to Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar. Victims are often abducted, their hands and feet tightly bound, and their families sent threatening photos or videos demanding unaffordable ransom. Failure to pay leads to severe harm or death threats. These crimes thrive due to poor camp security and fear of retaliation, leaving refugees trapped in fear. Anon.
